Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
The Senior Group Manager – Regional and Partners Connectivity PMO will be a key program leader at General Motors, overseeing the global execution and performance of all Core connectivity products. This includes carrier networks, infrastructure, and connectivity platforms for sustained regions, emerging markets, and OEMs. This role requires a performance-driven leadership approach that optimizes customer outcomes, business growth, and global market experience.
This position is crucial for driving connectivity and related infrastructure initiatives at General Motors, ensuring efficient and effective project completion while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Responsibilities cover the entire program lifecycle, from requirements definition to deployment. This includes defining schedules, scopes, budget estimates, and implementation plans, along with risk mitigation strategies. The role involves leading a team of Program Managers, providing direction and support to build a high-performing team.
The ideal candidate will excel at developing new strategies, championing cross-functional work, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and simplifying complex issues.
What you'll do
- Team Building: Develop and mentor a high-performing team of Program Managers, providing clear direction and support.
- Strategy Development: Create and implement connectivity program strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Program Leadership: Lead connectivity programs from requirements through deployment, identifying key schedules, scopes, budgets, and implementation plans, including risk management.
- Resource Coordination: Ensure projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget by coordinating internal and external resources.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and PMO operations to develop communication channels such as dashboards and presentations.
- Alignment and Execution: Foster collaboration primarily with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of program plans.
- Program Analysis: Monitor program status and make necessary adjustments to scope, schedule, or budget to meet objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing regular updates on program status and changes.
- Process Creation: Lead the creation and documentation of program-related processes.
- Communication: Report program outcomes and risks to management, escalating issues as needed.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor intelligence, and market research to inform decision-making.
