Join our team at BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Capability as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical.

Away from Home Location Work is required: Successful applicants will be required to travel and work away from their designated work location for a period of up to 12 consecutive weeks between August and November each year. This provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. We are looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to embrace this aspect of the position.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the MRO team to ensure efficient and precise task completion, leading to the successful production of airworthy aircraft while adhering to DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) regulations.
- Foster effective communication and coordination with Boeing, customers, and industry teams to support maintenance operations, demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills within a team-oriented environment.
- Strictly adhere to aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance/modification operating procedures, and meticulous documentation practices.
- Embrace a positive attitude towards Environmental Health & Safety (ISO14001 principles) in the workplace, prioritizing the well-being of all personnel and the environment.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
- Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence or the ability to obtain.
- Onsite CH-47F (SG) Type training is available
- Be able to demonstrated a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the EASA/CASA/DASR regulatory framework.
- Working knowledge of a computer-based maintenance management system.
- Be an Australian Citizen to meet Project and Defence security requirements
- Hold a C class drivers license.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a Defence Military Aerospace environment on CH-47F (SG) or CH-47F.
- Previous experience using paper-based aircraft maintenance documentation (AMD)
Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Baseline) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) to commence in this position. Please refer to the Department of Defence website to understand your personal obligations.
