Overview
The Facility Maintenance Technician supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and facility infrastructure within a 244,000-square-foot Class A office and manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas. This position performs a range of maintenance activities, from routine service requests and minor repairs to supporting more complex facility projects.
The technician provides daily technical and maintenance support to multiple departments, troubleshoots facility-related issues, performs preventive maintenance, and helps ensure building systems and equipment remain safe and operational. The role also coordinates with vendors and external contractors by scheduling, escorting, and supporting on-site inspections, repairs, and other facility services.
Pay: $22

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support of facilities.
- Perform facility repairs and maintenance for internal customers, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work orders and planned preventive maintenance.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of facility tools, equipment, and processes.
- Support vendors and contractors during inspections and on-site repairs. Provide escort duties as needed.
- Work within HID Global safety protocols and actively participate in all aspects of workplace safety.
- Provide feedback to the department regarding process improvements and opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
- Support site emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Participate in furniture moves and event setup, including chairs, tables, tents, and temporary structures required for special events.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC system functions and facility operations.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and related procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and as-built drawings.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of one year of maintenance experience in a commercial building environment.
Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Computer and Systems Skills
- Proficient in operating a Building Management System (BMS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
