Warehouse Team Members are hardworking and ambitious workers who are responsible for picking, packaging, staging, and shipping automotive parts from a General Motors warehouse. Team members are also loading, unloading, stocking, and maintaining the warehouse inventory.
Work Requirements:
Must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the essential knowledge, skill, ability and/or physical demands required. Additional or different requirements may exist in this role.

Use and operate warehouse equipment such as order selector, sit down/stand up forklifts in connection with the receipt, storage, and shipping of parts. These vehicles could operate at heights of up to 35 feet.

Perform a variety of duties, including:

Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling).

Stage parts of loading.
-
Load finished products onto truck and/or railcar.
-
Move parts to warehouse for storage.
-
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.

Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures.

Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
-
Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes as required by business and manpower demands.

Complete tasks within designated timeframes to meet operational expectations.

Work in a dynamic and fast-paced warehousing plant environment.

Regularly report for work on time to support startup and throughput goals.

Perform bench, floor, or conveyor assembly work, usually of short cycle duration, and involving standardized work elements. Work may involve using hand positioning, assist devices such as hoists, and power tools or other equipment

First responder support of production machining and/or assembly environment. This entails use of computerized equipment and activities to include machine resets, quality and utilizing standardized work instructions

Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform tasks on all equipment in assigned workspace

Perform predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance activities
Physical Requirements

May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. depending on department

Minimum Requirements:
-
18+ years old.

Flexible shift availability.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes drug testing and a background check.

Proficiency to listen, read, follow work and safety instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
-
One year of manufacturing experience, preferably in the automotive industry, a warehouse setting, or other similar environment.
