Job Summary
The Xfinity WiFi Deployment team is responsible for all aspect of deployment of our wireless network nationally, from site ID through install. The Director leads the design and deployment of wireless assets across cellular and WiFi technologies, including managing business partners, coordinating with utilities, collaborating with legal and government affairs, and guiding a team of engineers through installation and testing.
Job Description
This team and role are based in our Comcast Technology Center in downtown Philadelphia.
We are looking for a Director with:
- Strong communication skills across all levels - ability to present to senior leadership and also communicate with teams on the ground, vendors, and partners
- Experience managing a process through stages
- An understanding of the technology and concepts related to the network
- Experience with deployment; wireless network preferred but not necessary
- Demonstrated skill collaborating with multiple teams, vendors, and business partners
Core Responsibilities
- Oversees the development and processes for wireless deployments and applications that best support the Company's technology and engineering roadmap.
- Creates the prioritization of deployment across markets and regions
- Owns the deployment processes for wireless builds with regional business partners
- Executes budgetary reconciliations with regional business partners
- Manages a team of deployment professionals to execute plan of record
- Subject matter expert on internal systems and regional processes for coax construction
- Drive efficiencies in the deployment process with regional business partners and internal systems
- Develops and manages department and project budgets.
- Recruits, builds and nurtures high performance teams.
- Provides leadership and direction to Technical Research and Development staff by setting goals, objectives, performance criteria and departmental standards.
- Forecasts project estimates, resource needs, timelines and oversees schedules of product releases and project time tables.
- Schedules and moderates periodic meetings with staff to review recent developments and plan/prioritize future activities.
- Presents concepts and technical information in common terms to end user(s).
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
