Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a Senior Estimator in our growing Design Engineering Services group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location
This position will be based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and determine the most efficient means and methods to estimate the cost to construct
- Develop complete estimates for very large, complex jobs.
- Create logistic plans for material handling
- Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines working independently.
- Train and mentor younger estimators in the preparation estimates.
- Review estimates prepared by other estimating groups or V partners to determine data completeness and procedures; aid in resolving differences in bid items
- Use recognized engineer techniques and procedures to conduct estimates and adhere to standard company policy and
- Must be capable of handling major technical problems encountered during bid preparation.
- Stay current on various trends and developments such as new equipment, methods, and procedures developing in the industry or specialized discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, etc.).
- Prepare special studies or reports required by the unusual nature of some bid items or conditions.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or construction-related technology, OR extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above
- At least 10 years' experience in an estimating/pre-construction related role.
- Strong attention to detail; strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work,Outlook. PowerPoint)
- Ability and willingness to learn and teach.
- Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Experience with InEight Estimate (HardDollar) preferred.
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
- Work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Knowledge of construction methods, costs and techniques.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.
- Must be willing to travel as the job requires.

Base Compensation: $130,000 - $165,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
