Candidates who join KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business before the spin-off will transition to Trinzic when the separation is complete and will not need to reapply for employment.
This position supports the Marine Corps’ enterprise Live, Virtual, and Constructive training environment and related training modernization priorities, including Project Tripoli and the progression toward Initial Operational Capability.
KBR is seeking a Principal Specialist, Subject Matter Expert to lead the development and execution of a new strategic communications and enterprise engagement initiative supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Training and Education Command’s Range and Training Programs Division. The initiative will initially support RTPD and may expand across TECOM as requirements evolve and measurable results are demonstrated. This position will serve as the principal strategic communications subject matter expert and project lead for the effort. The selected individual will apply extensive experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, organizational adoption, marketing, program development, and senior-level advisory support to establish the initiative from the ground up.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal strategic communications advisor supporting senior leadership within RTPD and TECOM.
- The Principal Specialist will work directly with senior government stakeholders to translate complex mission, technical, and organizational priorities into clear communications strategies, engagement plans, executive-level materials, and measurable implementation approaches. The role requires the ability to operate with substantial independence, address complex and task-specific questions, analyze information, develop recommendations, and solve advanced problems within the individual’s field of expertise.
- Provide leadership and functional direction to personnel supporting the initiative, including additional KBR communications, marketing, analytical, or technical resources incorporated as requirements develop. The individual will also coach team members, provide feedback, establish quality standards, and promote consistent execution across the project.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic communications plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, messaging frameworks, and organizational adoption initiatives supporting Marine Corps training modernization efforts.
- Conduct studies, assessments, and analyses to identify communication challenges, stakeholder requirements, emerging trends, and opportunities for increased mission awareness and engagement.
- Develop executive-level briefings, strategic messaging, talking points, presentations, reports, and other decision-support products for senior government and military stakeholders.
- Analyze communication effectiveness, stakeholder feedback, and performance metrics to provide recommendations and actionable solutions that improve program outcomes.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to personnel supporting the initiative while ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with customer objectives.
- Engage and collaborate with government leaders, military organizations, industry partners, and cross-functional KBR teams to support strategic priorities and mission objectives.
- Evaluate emerging customer requirements and recommend implementation approaches, communication strategies, and resource solutions to support evolving mission needs.
- Support conferences, leadership forums, working groups, demonstrations, and other strategic engagements as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen with Current/Active Secret with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
- Bachelor's degree and fifteen (15)+ years of related experience
- Experience with Marine Corps’ enterprise Live, Virtual, and Constructive training environment and related training modernization priorities
- Experience leading complex initiatives and providing leadership, direction, and mentorship to project team members.
- Experience preparing executive-level briefings, implementation plans, strategic communications products, and decision-support materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience briefing General Officers, Senior Executive Service personnel, Flag Officers, or other senior executive leaders.
- Advanced degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience establishing new strategic communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, or organizational adoption programs from concept through execution.
