After‑School Counselor & Van Driver (The Jones Experience)
The Jones Experience After‑School Program is seeking a caring, reliable, and positive team member to serve as both an After‑School Counselor and Van Driver. This combined role supports a small group of self‑sufficient children in a warm, community‑focused environment while also ensuring safe and timely transportation each afternoon.
We are looking for someone who is patient, friendly, and enjoys being part of a program that feels like family. Our team members help maintain a calm, structured atmosphere where children feel supported, respected, and encouraged each day.
ResponsibilitiesTransportation Duties
- Safely operate a program van for daily school pickups.
- Follow designated routes and maintain punctual, reliable transportation.
- Ensure all children are seated, buckled, and following safety expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and report any maintenance needs.
After‑School Counselor Duties
- Daily Supervision — Maintain a safe, attentive environment for children ages 5–12 during program hours.
- Positive Engagement — Build warm, encouraging relationships with students and support our family‑centered culture.
- Light Guidance — Assist with small conflicts, transitions, or simple tasks as needed.
- Safety Monitoring — Ensure children remain in designated areas and follow program expectations.
- Activity Support — Help with simple games, enrichment activities, or quiet-time options.
- Environment Stewardship — Support a clean, organized, welcoming space (children clean up after themselves).
- Communication — Communicate professionally with staff and families when necessary.
- Role Modeling — Demonstrate kindness, patience, and respect consistent with The Jones Experience values.
Required Schedule — No Exceptions
This position requires a consistent schedule of:
Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Applicants must be fully available during these hours.
There is no flexibility in the schedule.
