Position Summary:
The Quality Process Auditor III will audit and recommend and participate in corrective action to discrepancies found primarily in Joint Pre-Delivery Inspection (J-PDI). Discrepancies may be discovered in record keeping, work instructions, operator performance, testing, pilot vehicles, part inspection J-PDI or trips in the field. Auditors will be looking for system breakdowns, as well as participating in improving the QA systems at the plants, Parts Central and in the field.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Work safely, report any safety concerns to Management.
- Test and Inspect using electronic checklist app.
- Document non conformances accordingly.
- Conduct basic rework of non-conformances.
- Follow-up on inspection test results in the plant by conduction product audits.
- Good computer skills and written communication skills, including CAD Viewer, JD Edwards, and a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word).
- Experience and competency in the use of basic QA instrumentation. (Height gauge, Calipers, Micrometer, Paint film gauging, Pressure gauges, Steel rulers (scales) andTorque gauges).
- Knowledge of Heil Quality Management System and operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of 8-D corrective action process.
- ISO 9001:2015
- Blueprint reading.
Job Specifications:
- 5-10 years’ experience in the Quality related field.
- This position may require overnight travel at times but should be less than 10% of the time worked.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and CDL license is preferred.
- A working knowledge of paint, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and MIG welding and assembly techniques would be a plus.
- Knowledge of the functions of various models of Heil refuse vehicles would be preferred.

Requirements:
Education: Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Outlook and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.
Mental: Requires periods of high concentration using the computer to exceed 50% of the working day.
Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 10%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 5% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 5% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time; requires to be stationary at work station for approximately 75% of the time.
Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.
Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.
Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.
Environmental: Exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
