Position Summary The Immunology and Cardiovascular Thematic Research Center (ICV TRC) is focused on discovering and developing novel therapeutics to treat inflammatory , fibrotic , and cardiovascular diseases. The Translational Early Development (TED) group within the IC V -TRC seeks to understand disease pathophysiology to enable patient selection and stratification in clinical trials and develop critical assays to evaluate target engagement and pharmacodynamics of our new drugs in patients .
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated research scientist interested in a fast -paced scientific environment and with a focus on CV-related translational research . Primary responsibilities would includ e cell culture and conducting cell-based assays. The ideal candidate would be able to work independently, demonstrate flexibility and willing to work as a member of a large cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to translational project s which are aligned with CV Translational Research objective s
- Responsibilities may include laboratory work, literature/data review, and/or computational analyse s
- Work independently in cell culture (iPSC-CMs experience is a plus) , have experience processing human samples, and develop cell-based assays as needed
- Present and communicate data to key stakeholders as requested at group and department meetings
Qualifications & Experience
- BS or MS in relevant scientific discipline (biology, biochemistry, cell biology, etc.) with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with cell culture (cardiomyocytes is preferred) and cell-based assay development
- Knowledge of cardiovascular biology and heart failure pathophysiology
- E xperience with wet lab experimentation, analysis & interpretation of results is required .
- Understanding of drug discovery process is preferred
- Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and to communicate data through both oral and written formats
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the willingness and ability to foster working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $82,000 - $102,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
