Description:*SECOND SHIFT*
Set up and perform primary machining operations as required on at least one of the machine/skill operations, on computer numerically controlled, numerically controlled or conventional lathes or mills or machining centers or of/id grinders and surface grinders or wire/electrode edm. Machining operations include a variety of semi-complex parts, details, and assemblies. Set up machines using all standard attachments and accessories. Select cutters, speeds and feeds as required. Work from engineering drawings, tooling drawings, engineering change documents, manufacturing planning, sketches, mylars, and verbal instructions. Check part machined against requirements for accuracy and operation sequence using precision measuring equipment, such as dial calipers, micrometers, scales and gages. Perform rework, routine cleaning, and deburring of parts to facilitate machining operations. Occasionally perform more difficult work under the instruction of supervisor, leadman, or higher classified machinist for the purposes of training. Keep own area clean and orderly. High School diploma or equivalent and one to three years experience.
Basic Qualifications:
- Equivalent to four years high school plus short specialized training.
-Requires a general knowledge of machinist trade and the ability to work from blueprints and specification and use shop mathematics.
-Experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as verniers, micrometers, sine bars and surface gauges.
-Experience with layout and machine shop practices.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
