The Work:This Linux Systems Administrator Staff role focuses on maintaining and optimizing IT systems, with a particular emphasis on Linux environments. The primary responsibilities are centered around system support, troubleshooting, and user assistance. Here’s a breakdown of the key duties:
IT Systems Implementation & Maintenance:
o Provide support for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems.
o Manage IT system infrastructure and associated processes.
o Handle the daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
System Operations & Monitoring:
o Oversee day-to-day operations, including monitoring and resolving issues for client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices.
o Ensure smooth functioning and availability of IT systems through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
Tier 1 & Tier 2 Support:
o Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
o Assist in the escalation and communication of system status to agency management and internal customers.
o Stay involved in resolving hardware issues, particularly through the dispatch system.
Linux System Management:
o Configure and manage Linux operating systems.
o Install and load operating system software, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
o Troubleshoot issues, maintain the integrity of network components, and implement enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
System Optimization & Planning:
o Optimize system operations and resource utilization.
o Conduct system capacity analysis and planning to ensure systems meet current and future demands.
User Assistance & Problem Resolution:
o Provide support to users in accessing and using IT systems.
o Offer in-depth troubleshooting and problem resolution for escalated issues.
o Deliver detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted.
10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience with Linux system administration, including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and vSphere is beneficial.
Ansible experience is preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $95,900 - $183,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
