A Purchasing Agent purchases products and manages inventory levels of products for Codale to resell. Their duties include maintaining, and forecasting product inventory levels, researching new and replacement products, negotiating costs and discounts of products and any freight and service charges with suppliers, processing and managing purchasing and maintaining inventory levels across the Codale network.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors
- Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials.
- Create, review, and submit purchase orders on time
- Coordinate shipping schedule with vendors
- Manage incoming material/inventory and follow up with suppliers on delivery requirements
- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies for Codale Electric
- Work with various divisions in assisting in providing strategic sourcing expertise
- Define, evaluate, and implement purchasing processes and procedures that lead to greater efficiencies and cost savings for the company
- Provide research and comparison data for suppliers, vendors, goods, and services
- Provide recommendations for most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product, quality of service, and cost-efficiency
- Coordinating inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
- Strategically evaluate and implement ways that improve the purchasing system and processes
What You’ll Bring:
- Working knowledge of supply chain management
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Understanding of Eterm (Eclipse or Solar)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft suite – Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
- Electrical construction sales or sales (1+ years preferably)
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
- You are career-minded, seeking an opportunity to grow professionally and assist in the overall growth of our company
Physical Demand and Work Hours:
- This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and performing deskwork.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents
- Occasional standing, walking, and reaching during meetings and other work-related activities.
- Vision abilities required, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus for reviewing documents
