Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Logistics Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in formulating logistical plans, policies, and procedures essential for providing comprehensive support in supply, transportation, maintenance, and services within the logistics field. Your expertise will be critical in recommending and orchestrating the logistics support structure, ensuring effective execution of project logistics functions. You will facilitate coordination between various logistics functions, such as transportation, maintenance, and warehousing, to deliver efficient, timely, and cost-effective support to customers. Problem identification and resolution, collaboration with customers to achieve logistics objectives, and performance measurement analysis are key aspects of this role.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Formulate logistical plans, policies, and procedures for comprehensive support in supply, transportation, maintenance, and services.
- Recommend and coordinate the logistics support structure to execute project logistics functions effectively.
- Facilitate coordination between logistics functions (transportation, maintenance, warehousing) to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective customer support.
- Identify and troubleshoot problem areas within logistics, proposing solutions or coordinating resolution efforts with management.
- Collaborate with customers to understand and achieve desired logistics objectives, priorities, and schedules, effectively communicating these to management.
- Analyze work processes and devise metrics for measuring performance.
- Collaborate with Environmental, Safety, and other Shared Services functional areas, as applicable, concerning logistical functions performed under the contract.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in logistics or directly related field.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requires strong understanding of logistical plans, policies, and procedures.
- Must have effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Must have excellent coordination and communication abilities.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
