Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 1:1 support to individuals in their homes and throughout the community in the Scranton, PA area. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping clients achieve greater independence, engage in their communities, and improve their overall quality of life.
Position Details
- One-on-one support in client homes and community settings
- Assist with daily living activities and personal goals
- Accompany clients to community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social events
- Encourage independence, confidence, and community integration
- Build positive, supportive relationships with clients and families
- Follow individualized care plans and document services provided
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily routines
- Support community participation and social engagement
- Promote client safety and well-being at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the care team
- Assist with transportation and community-based activities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or similar populations is preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to pass background screening and any required clearances
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
