Job Summary
The Analyst position is an entry level position within the Industrial Development team. The Analyst will contribute by supporting the Industrial Development team's strategic initiatives, project and revenue growth goals, and enhancement of processes. The Analyst will manage projects as assigned by leadership related to achieving business objectives. This role is meant to enhance the team's effectiveness and productivity but also develop the Analyst's skills and knowledge for potential advancement within the team and organization.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Provide support for the Industrial Development team’s processes and initiatives including, but not limited to: revenue growth opportunities, coordination across internal and external organizations in support of strategic goals, Salesforce management and reporting, and other projects as assigned by leadership.
- Support industrial development initiatives related to shortlines and assist with coordinating shortline outreach.
- Develop a network of key stakeholders to ensure buy-in for Industrial Development initiatives.
- Attend industry related conferences and market-specific seminars
- Define market trends and prospecting approach for lead generation and business recruitment efforts.
- Articulate and educate potential customers on rail's advantages as a supply chain solution.
- Be a team player willing to assist team members with assigned tasks.
- Understand the business strategy and identify specific drivers for each customer's site selection that maximizes the growth potential for CSX.
- Establish reputation as an excellent communicator, team player, and professional role model for the industry.
- Timely communications of project updates to all stakeholders including operations, sales & marketing, engineering, and finance.
- Maintain updates on project developments in Salesforce CRM
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in Industrial Development/Commercial Real Estate, Economic Development, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or Finance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Industrial Development/Commercial Real Estate, Economic Development, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or Finance Project management experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Market data compilation and analysis skills
- Agile negotiator with the ability to research and understand stakeholder needs and perspectives
- Marketing, organizational, detail attentiveness, time management, leadership, and communication skills
- Business acumen, a sense of urgency
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Ability to lead ad hoc teams through project execution
- Ability to establish rapport and relationships with individuals at all levels internally and externally to include local rail managers, senior leadership executives and community representatives
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills particularly Power Point and Excel.
