The Multi Services Technician ensures the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the assigned building project by ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all required work and by attaining the utmost in customer satisfaction.
Reports to: Facility Manager, Assistant Facility Manager, Operations Manager, Building Engineer Supervisor, or Chief Engineer.
BASIC FUNCTION:
- Responsible for maintaining a high standard of maintenance work for electrical equipment and systems
- Ensure that the electrical activities tied to all systems of a building, or group of buildings are performed effectively and efficiently.
- Expected to handle a wide range of operational and support-related tasks.
- Provide optimal customer relations and operations management.
- Directs the electrical maintenance and repair program of a relatively large facility or complex of buildings through subordinate supervisors.
- Plans and prioritizes master work schedule.
- Coordinates major usage changes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring and maintaining all building and mission critical facilities equipment.
- Performs a variety of electrical tasks safely, including installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, testing, repairing and installation in commercial buildings.
- Operates facility equipment in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations.
- Perform tests and rounds, and analyze the data to ensure proper functioning and operating parameters of equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment to ensure efficient operation of all building systems.
- Keep close track of the performance of all Electrical equipment within the building and the respective working area.
- Document all work performed and take active role in the process improvement/quality improvement process.
- Participate and ensure complete success of preventive maintenance program of managed building assets
- Keeps management informed of job needs, progress and issues.
- Resolves job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalates concerns to management as required.
- Work with voltage that ranges from 24V AC/DC on up to 480V AC.
- May assist Engineering Manager/Foreman with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and business updates.
- Assist in energy conservation programs, follow up with team to determine ways to save electricity and HVAC during unoccupied times.
- To attend all safety and fire training and adhere to safety instructions at work to prevent any accidents.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years’ experience in operating and maintaining electrical equipment or working as an electrician.
- Two-year Associate Degree in job related technical training or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of computer and PLC Programming, AC/DC drives, Motor Controls, Digital Meters, and Recorders.
- Demonstrated ability to read/interpret drawings and wire diagrams.
- Possesses working knowledge/understanding of Electrical Code (both local and IEEE) as it applies to controls.
- Experienced in scope determination of installation materials.
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
- Must respond to, and address, callouts, and emergencies (within 1 hour) during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which require carrying a communication device when on rotational call.
- Job planning and prioritizing with a strong client focus.
- Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Knowledge of Lock/Tag Out Protocol, OSHA, and other Electrical safety procedures.
- May work in low-lit areas.
- Be available for shift work when applicable.
- Must be able to frequently climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, articulating lifts, etc.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- At least one (5-7+) year experience supporting mission critical environments.
- Current electrical Journeyman’s preferred, not required.
- Hands on electrical or mechanical skill, and competence in the area of non-expertise (for example, electrical expertise with a mechanical competence, or vice-versa)
- Experience working on electric vehicle (EV) charging stations desired.
- Experienced with DC Power Plants, PDU Units, Emergency Generators, and UPS units desired
- Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems.
- Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
