The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA’s Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process, and tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support of military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF).

Responsibilities:
SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified Space Intelligence & Planning Analyst. The successful candidate will support The S4S Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Directorate (hereafter referred to as the S2) and provide intelligence analysis, assessments, and support to the CDR/S4S and to the Operations (S3), Plans (S5), and other directorates as needed.
The primary goal of the S2 is to focus intelligence operations at the Task Force level and below (“down and in”), to ensure prioritization and integration of intelligence support to provide synchronized space effects and to ensure USSPACECOM can employ space operations in the preservation of freedom of action in space, deter aggression, and enable global power projection, in order to defend the United States, U.S. vital interests/national objectives, and to support coalition allies and partners.
Responsibilities
Key duties associated with this position include but are not limited to:
- Perform intelligence planning and Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (JIPOE) in support of campaign, deliberate, and crisis action planning.
- Collaborate with S4S/S5 and subordinate task forces, coordinate with Allies/Coalition partners on intelligence issues associated with space, to include intelligence doctrine, strategy, and policy.
- Provide assessments of adversary readiness, disposition, capabilities, and intent to enable global and theater effects in the space domain.
- Coordinate intelligence activities in support of S4S/S35 & S5 planning and provide planners in support of designated Operational Planning Team (OPT) efforts.
- Support developing, collecting, recommending, and maintaining Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR) to support the commander’s decision-making process.
- Ensure the S4S’s PIRs and Essential Elements of Information (EEIs) support CDR S4S’s Commander’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs).
- Support development of the Annex B (Intelligence) OPLAN and identify intelligence requirements for OPLAN execution.
- Collect, write, and submit collection requirements to USSPACECOM J2 to ensure synchronized intelligence operations from subordinate task forces and complete limited admin duties to include preparing and reviewing internal/external documents, and managing assigned taskings using the Task Management Tool (TMT) on the NIPRnet and SIPRnet coordinating with action officers to ensure they are aware of assigned tasks and due dates.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Active DIA TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; SAP eligibility
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience; or Master’s degree and 7 years of experience
- Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis, and recommendations for mission and program challenges
- Deep experience in initiating and/or developing Government specified content for the USSPACECOM J2 (Space Intelligence Enterprise)
- Possess the specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior military experience preferred
- Experience with military operations, planning, and policies
- Experience in space operations, joint operations, and working with operational centers
