Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Payment Integrity team members with development, implementation and maintenance of operational/savings reports and dashboards; ensuring resources are accurate, up-to-date, and can be analyzed to reveal critical insights applicable to strategic initiatives
- Produce detailed reports for the Payment Integrity pillars
- Extract critical and pertinent information from the data sets that help the stakeholders understand optimal outcomes
- Effectively process and integrate primary and/or secondary data sources using various data sources (SQL, Snowflake, PBI Dataflows)
- Develop effective quality control processes to ensure data integrity
- Utilize data analytics to uncover critical business insights and findings
- Possess the aptitude to quickly learn software platforms such as MS SQL Server, Power BI, and other BI tools
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to quantify and prioritize potential savings opportunities
- Support the triage of PI referrals from local markets, HCE, Clinical Affordability in order to assess risk
- Extract critical and pertinent information from the data sets that help the stakeholders understand optimal outcomes
- Ad hoc support for stakeholders and Payment Integrity needs
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of database experience and ability to effectively map data, as well as run advanced
- 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools
- 2+ years of experience working in the health insurance industry; with knowledge of health insurance claims and/or various payment methodologies
- Ability to manage 4-5 intermediate to complex analytical projects at one time
- Experience managing meetings and negotiating with a diverse audience to align on scope and priority of outcomes for assigned projects
- Demonstrated adaptability, adjusting priorities and shifting focus quickly
- Experience with SQL queries to analyze large complex data sets and troubleshoot
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Advanced Excel experience (creating pivot tables, writing functions, and formulas)
- Proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries (joins, unions, subqueries, CTEs)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in generating extracts from SSMS or DBeaver
- Experience with ETL (Snowflake, Fabric, Azure)
- Experience working with federal healthcare contracts
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools (such as SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, etc.)
- Experience with Power BI platform (such as data flows, data modeling, reporting, dashboards, service administration, DAX, M, etc.)
- Payment integrity experience specifically in terms of identifying opportunity
- Proven solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate results of data analysis to a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to support Pacific Time Zone and/or location in California (or vicinity)
- Reside in California

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
