Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Fleet Manager to oversee the operations of our multiple mechanic shops and ensure the smooth functioning of our entire fleet. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for maintaining all fleet maintenance records, managing a team of 15-20 employees, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Maintenance & Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all vehicles in the fleet, ensuring that they are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.
- Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers for parts and services.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Supervise and manage a team of 15-20 employees, including mechanics and administrative staff.
- Provide leadership, training, and support to the team to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all vehicles are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as needed.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Develop and implement procedures to optimize fleet operations and reduce costs.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle utilization, and other key metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements to keep the fleet operations competitive.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role managing multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and fleet management software.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations related to fleet management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Fleet Management or a related field.
- Experience working with heavy equipment or specialized vehicles.
Software: 3-5 yrs experience in the following
· Fleetio – Fleet Services – Record Keeping
· SamSara – Real time fleet tracking
· Microsoft suite
· Ryder Guide - Ryder Maintenance Plan
