Image Scientist
KBR isseekingaImage Scientist to support government customers in the Washington Metropolitan Area.The Image Scientist providesexpertisein imagery science, imagery analysis, and photogrammetry that enables the detailed technical analysis of GEOINT product quality.The Image Scientistswillprovide oversight and continuity of knowledge to the team, as well as support the broad range of assessments and assessment tasks both independent and with senior guidance. Thisindividualwill also support algorithm development and validation related to imagery science tasks.
Provideimagery scientist support through accomplishment of technical reviews, consultations, oversight of proposed and executed GEOINT product quality assessments and studies, and strategic level product quality direction.
Provideimage processing algorithm validation and verification in support of GEOINT product quality assessments or ad hoc customer requests.
Provideimagery science services and analysis in support of GEOINT product quality assessments for the full range of traditional and non-traditional imaging systems, products, and data formats; sensor fidelity assessment, pixel registration assessment, Tonal Transfer Curve assessments, Relative Edge Response assessment, MTF and Signal to Noise Ratio assessment, and other product quality parameters.
Support algorithm development in support of imagery science tasks and assessment of various product quality parameters.
Providephotogrammetricservices and engineering in support of the full range of traditional and non-traditional imaging systems and products; assessment of product geolocation accuracy using verified geolocation of a known features, verifying mensuration accuracy through measurement of known objects, calculating ground sample distance, and other photogrammetric analyses as directed.
Provideimagery analyst support through technical review, consultation, and oversight of proposed and executed product quality assessments and studies, and strategic level product quality direction.
Provideimagery analyst services in support of GEOINT product quality assessment planning, execution, and results analysis; imagery review, artifact analysis, NIIRS evaluations (absolute NIIRS, delta NIIRS, and ENS NIIRS evaluations), display performance assessments, etc.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
A minimum of 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science, engineering, or similar engineering/science field.
Strong Experience with SAR, IR, Spectral, LIDAR, ArcGIS, RSI ENVI, and photogrammetry.
Experience in applied image processing and scientific analysis of imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar, photogrammetry), knowledge of image formation, and associated discipline phenomenology.
Experienceinscientifically processing imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar) from Civil and Commercial imaging systems,proficiencywith techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of associated discipline data processing using RSI ENVI.
Experience with GOTS applications such as FSTK and AGITK.
Ability to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment.
Must be a self-starter, able tooperatewith little guidance.
