Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
The Team: The Sustainable Workplaces team (SW) is looking for innovative Entry Level Chemical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, Architects, Mechanical Engineers and Construction Project Managers to help us create places where people want to be. Our global organization supports the full life cycle of facility services beginning with site selection, design, construction and operational support of manufacturing and office facilities. This rotational program is designed to develop new employees, and prepare them for a future with GM. This is accomplished by providing work assignments and networking opportunities that expose them to different, interfacing roles in critical and emerging business areas. In parallel, the engineers develop business acumen, strategic technical skills, relationships, and excellence that grow as they progress through the program. The result is an employee that is prepared to fit directly into a variety of roles, quickly add value and move the company forward. This program requires a two-year commitment and consists of four 6-month rotations within the Sustainable Workplaces organization as part of our TRACK (Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge) program.
What You'll do:
Construction & Facilities Projects: Team members plan, design, build and construct purpose-built facilities and infrastructure that comply with the principles of economic, social & environmental sustainability.
Environmental Strategies & Operations: Team members are a first line resource to our manufacturing and non-manufacturing operations. Proficient at implementing robust environmental and sustainability practices into daily business decisions and operations to comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations while fostering community connection.
Sustainability: Team members lead efforts to meet GM’s science-based targets for Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions and carbon neutral goal by decarbonizing consumption of GM’s operations and products. Negotiate commercial agreements that decarbonize energy supply, support advocacy engagement efforts around grid decarbonization.
Facilities Operations : Team Members operate our facilities in a safe, sustainable, and cost-efficient manner that enable our GM business to function productively without interruption.

Required Qualifications:

Must graduate between December 2024 and June 2025

Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

The salary range for this role is $72,000-$115,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
