Program Summary
Consolidated Support Center (CSC) organization contains functions that charge direct to contracts such as Accounting, HR, Recruiting, Project Planning & Cost (PP&C) and Estimating. Additionally, CSC performs indirect activities such as support for Bid and Proposals. CSC provides supports to diverse types of projects within R&S business unit portfolio.
Job Summary
As an Associate Specialist in Cost Control at KBR, you will play a pivotal role in forecasting, controlling, and reporting project costs within our dynamic organization. Your main objective will be to develop and provide project variances, trend analyses, and expenditure reports, ensuring accurate financial oversight for key projects. Working closely with the PP&C and Procurement teams, you will process new subcontracts, time-phase open commitments, and reconcile procurement documents. This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced skills by solving standard problems using established procedures, all while honing your organizational and communication abilities. Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, you will fit seamlessly into our structured yet innovative environment, making a significant impact on high-profile projects
Roles and Responsibilities
Process new subcontracts commitments and change orders data in commitments database (MS Access tool)
Time-phase open commitments by reviewing subcontract documents, pricing schedules, and material requisitions.
Reconcile / validate procurement documents and invoices with Costpoint and projects general ledgers
Work closely with PP&C and Procurement teams on a regular basis
Prepare monthly subcontracts spending analysis and comparison to period accruals
Forecast analysis on future subcontracts expenditures and adjustments to open accruals
Prepare monthly commitments database and Costpoint accrual files for multiple projects
Processing COGNOS actuals and purchase orders data through internal MS access database tools
Create cost databases and man-hour reports for multiple projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Finance, or technical field.
Knowledge of basic program management concepts (budgets, estimate to complete, project schedules, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Excel and Access skills.
Experience with Costpoint ERP software and COGNOS business intelligence and performance management software.
Experience with project cost forecasting, control, and reporting.
Experience in preparing monthly spending analysis and forecast reports.
