How You’ll Make an Impact:
This role typically reports into a Sr. Merchant or Director of Merchandising, has 1-2 direct reports (if applicable), and is based in our Buckhead office in our onsite work environment.
- 35%: SBU Strategy:
- Lead business “take-aways” and “deep dives”; generate new strategies, reinforce existing ones, and drive change
- Develop strong understanding of the marketplace, recognizing and identifying trends
- Search for white space opportunities that will grow the brand and increase relevancy
- Utilize past knowledge plus current trends to develop new strategies and / or opportunities
- Maintain awareness of competition; understanding flow cadence, product assortment, and make / value equation
- Lead business and creative decisions for final assortment with Design, Art and PDC
- 20%: Style Set Up/System Management:
- Utilize reports and systems to create hindsight decks and specialized business reports
- Own product costing decisions/tools product margin – ensuring data analysis is up to date
- 20%: Store Visual & Site Direction:
- Partner with manager and team to manage store blueprints, pre-season marketing guidance and site priorities
- React to change in season to drive sales
- 15%: Costing, Pricing, Margin Management:
- Manage margin and deliver revenue goals based on financial plans across retail and wholesale
- Knowledge of product costing, garment construction, and pre-production life cycle
- Maintain awareness of competition; understanding flow cadence, product assortment, and make / value equation
- 10%: Team Development:
- Meet calendar deadlines and key milestone meeting deliverables
- Lead individual contributors
- Maintain strong cross functional relationships
We’d Love to Hear from You if:
Must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 4-7 Years of Experience in retail buying or merchandising position; experience developing a line structure is critical
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Ability to understand and translate trend for our brand
- Ability to develop product and assess creative
- Strong knowledge of retail metrics to effectively analyze results across channels and markets
- Experience working with design, sourcing, product development, tech design, and other cross-functional partners
- Well-developed presentation skills needed to present to senior level executives and key accounts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
