The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Industry and Security Analysis Group (ISAG) provides analytical, technical, and program support to promote, grow, and protect the U.S. industrial base. ISAG’s support spans the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Commerce, and other agencies to deliver critical decision support to national security leaders. Our team informs policy decisions, enables execution of comprehensive strategies and monitors and reports on the effectiveness of implementation. This enables senior leaders to execute strategies for developing and sustaining a robust industrial base that meets our nation’s strategic resource objectives. From policy to practice, we are a team of economic and national security professionals providing innovative solutions for our Nation’s most pressing security challenges.
We have an immediate need for an Economic Security SME to provide part-time onsite support in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on best commercial and government practices in due diligence, investment screening regimes, trade policy, technology scouting and financial regulation. The Economic Security SME supports U.S. and partner government clients on an array of economic security matters: industrial policy, foreign direct investment, small businesses due diligence, innovation funds, and strategic capital strategies. This includes supporting development and execution of training. In addition, the candidate will attend international conferences to assess the competitive landscape for partnership opportunities while assisting with business development. Finally, the candidate will draft strategic documents and white papers on economic security issues of concern to the U.S. and its partners.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree with a focus on National Security, Economics, or similar specialization
- 10+ years of experience working national security issues with a focus on economic security
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with peers and senior government officials
Desired:
- Master's degree with a focus on National Security, Economics, or similar specialization
- Active duty military experience
- Previous OSD or major staff experience
