Maxim Healthcare Corporate Services' is currently seeking an Open Credit Specialist that will research payment credits and takes appropriate actions based on type or status.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches payment credits on accounts to determine status, and takes appropriate action such as sales adjustments and refunds
- Consults with regional staff and branches prior to issuing refunds
- Maintains current knowledge of Managed Care and other third party insurance/health plans coverage, billing procedures, coding and policies
- Contacts payers or patients to obtain appropriate information for refunds
- Completes required forms to process refunds
- Reviews weekly posting of open credits
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent required
- Three (3) years of experience in Accounts Receivables within a healthcare or insurance environment preferred
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including but not limited to supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills
- Quick and accurate Alpha/numeric data entry skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Web-enabled applications
- Excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities
- Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well both as part of a team and independently
- Must present a positive image that reflects well on the organization
Wages/Salary Information:
$20.00 per hour, with a $2,000 annual bonus potential
