The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA’s Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF). SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified Space Operations Action Officer for Strategic Space Planning.
Responsibilities:
This position supports the establishment of US Space Force Service Components to Combatant Commands (CCMD) as well as supporting day-to-day activities of the United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Future Operations Division (SF/COO/S35). This position will fulfill program management and planning and programming-like functions with specified tasks focused on: building products for senior leaders; detailed mission analysis; personnel and facilities planning; contingency planning; guidance updates, security cooperation and partner engagement planning, program, and budget preparation. Specific responsibilities include:
- US Space Force contributions to major Joint Strategic Planning System documents to include but not limited to: Joint Planning and Execution Community, Global Integration Framework, Integrated Contingency Plans, Joint Strategy Working Group, etc.
- Interpret national level guidance and ensure incorporation into USSF efforts.
- Informs USSF Best Military Advice by providing warfighting analysis, novel concepts, and expert decision support.
- Informs force development by contributing to training, exercise, and education efforts.
- Supplements joint and service doctrine and assesses lessons learned for process improvement.
- Synthesize resourcing & strategy information on USSF programs.
- Develop and maintain Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) for key tasks.
- Coordinate meetings with external stakeholders.
- Monitor and incorporate USSF organizational strategy and leadership direction.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree mandatory, plus 10 yrs. (15 yrs. preferred) of experience in operations
- 5 years of Headquarters Staffing experience with understanding of Space mission areas and Joint Staff
- TS Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work and deliver independently
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills
- Knowledgeable of Space Staff/Air Staff/OSD/Joint Staff command relationships and structure
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders in a high profile and demanding office
- Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into manageable analytic tasks
- Remote work as determined by government customer but expectation is full time on site
Desired Experience:
- Focused degree in national security or related field
- 15 years' experience supporting Joint Staff, OSD, Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs
- Pentagon knowledge and understanding of Pentagon organizations
- Program/project management experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts in space
- Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations
- Staff experience supporting DoD agencies
