Overview
Job Summary
The Sr. Accountant II will act as a business partner between accounting and other departments. They will use their accounting and GAAP specific knowledge to drive processes and technical memos that are pertinent to the financial health of the organization in achieving both short term and long-term financial plans, as well as new sourcing and other strategic cost savings initiatives. This role will act as a thought leader from an accounting perspective and will have a seat at the table with respect to many different aspects of the business. The role will be responsible for helping to prepare board decks and management reporting, participate in special projects, be the lead for all technical memos, and be available for any other ad hoc projects needed for the accounting department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following
- Represent the accounting organization’s values and processes providing high quality support to leadership teams
- Standard Accounting responsibilities including:
- Account Reconciliations preparation
- Review of staff work
- Monthly close responsibilities
- Ad hoc projects
- Financial statement and footnote disclosure preparation work
- Policy and process documentation
- Control documentation
- Preparation of board deck materials
- Technical accounting memo preparation
- Help direct the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of accounting processes. Interpret and recommends modification to existing policies and practices.
- Provide financial support for new business opportunities. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Help in the assumptions and financial models in coordination with multiple functions
- Accounting support for acquisitions/divestitures (if applicable)
- Accounting support for RFP creation (if applicable)
- Accounting support for any system implementations
- Navigate multiple systems in the organization for accounting and reporting functions
- Support the Company’s long-term financial plan.
Additional job requirements:
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: ~10%
Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Actual schedule should be discussed with direct manager, as needed. All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting; and approximately seven (7) or more years’ related experience and/or training
- CPA required
- Experience in aircraft maintenance/aviation and Healthcare a plus

- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as an Accounting System

Pay Range
USD $85,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
