About this role: Wells Fargo Rail is seeking a Collections Analyst. This position's primary focus is to work with internal and external customers on resolving open past due invoices issued by Wells Fargo Rail. This individual will be responsible for collecting past due items and analyzing accounts for payment anomalies and non-accrual status, as well as creating monthly and quarterly metrics reports for senior management.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and resolve outstanding accounts receivable within the railcar leasing industry, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of past due accounts
- Utilize Oracle Financials to review customer accounts, identify past due accounts, implement appropriate account resolution strategies, and document resolution progress
- Employ Microsoft Excel and pivot tables to analyze financial data, generate reports, and track resolution progress
- Provide operational accounting support for internal business groups or operations departments
- Conduct thorough research on customer accounts to identify root causes of payment delays and implement proactive measures to minimize future delays
- Provide in-depth business review and develop long term strategies to optimize group or company performance
- Prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines to optimize account resolution performance and contribute to team goals
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve payment discrepancies, while maintaining positive relationships
- Assist in account resolution efforts on approximately 5,000 invoices that Wells Fargo Rail issues per month, totaling $63MM among 600 customers.
- Assist in completion of regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Attend weekly departmental meetings and interdepartmental meetings and provide account updates.
- Complete ad hoc requests accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Operational Accounting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in rail industry collections or account resolution.
- Experience with Oracle Financials or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and data analysis functions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, including accuracy in grammar and a sharp focus on eliminating errors.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and develop customer relationships while resolving past due customer accounts.
- Ability to articulate and analyze complex scenarios.
