Your role as an Engineering Co-Op will allow you to serve staff and leaders and help provide creative solutions to drive CPC's short- and long-term goals. You'll join a creative and passionate team of individuals. This role offers plenty of opportunities to grow your skills and expand your knowledge!
This is a two or three-semester co-op rotation. Engineering Co-Op students perform work of varying complexity on materials, products, and processes to provide accurate and thorough data to both customers and employees. Rotations for the co-op program may be in Design, Tooling, Product, Test, Quality, Automation, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate changes or improvements to the design or specification of existing products.
- Perform tests of varying complexity on new, existing, and competitive materials and products.
- Assist in the development of fixtures and tooling used by the lab, design engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality.
- Assist in the designing of products through innovation, computer-aided design, and predictive engineering tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations.
- Demonstrate support of CPC core values.
- Perform other job duties as assigned to meet business needs
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or above in engineering or science.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Strong aptitude for details, data interpretation, and control process implementation (Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, PFMEA).
- Possess the flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment (Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity).
- Strong results orientation and positive "can do" attitude with a sense of urgency to get things done.
- Self-starter: a "hands-on" individual who enjoys the challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction.
- Team player.
- Strong ability to work effectively within time constraints, changing priorities, and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and/or training in a specific CAD package such as Creo, ProE, or SolidWorks
- Knowledge and experience in basic programming using LabVIEW.
- Experience with hands-on problem-solving.
- Previous experience with various digital and analog instruments, such as flow meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, and calipers.

- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required; use of hands and fingers, and talk or hear. Reaching is frequently required with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or stoop.
