Job Overview:
As an Exchange and Microsoft 365 Global Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our email communication systems, ensuring security and compliance, and supporting our Microsoft 365 services. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining seamless communication between cloud and on-premises environments, integrating advanced email security measures, and providing top-notch support to end-users. Highlights of your role:
- Email Administration:
- Exchange Online Management:
- Administer the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Exchange Online, including mailbox management, distribution groups, and transport rules.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses.
- Implement and manage email archiving and retention policies to meet compliance requirements.
- Assist in the design and implementation of future-state Exchange environment.
- Responsible to provide required system reporting (audit, performance, etc)
- Provide problem resolution, root cause analysis, management, and documentation of messaging related issues.
- Proofpoint Integration:
- Collaborate with the security team to integrate Proofpoint for advanced email security, threat detection, and data loss prevention.
- SPAM and Phishing Mitigation:
- Proactively address SPAM, phishing, and malicious emails, ensuring a secure email environment.
- On-Premises Exchange Management:
- Maintain on-premises Exchange servers (2010/13/16/2019) in a hybrid setup, ensuring seamless communication between cloud and on-premises mailboxes.
- Azure AD Connect:
- Configure and manage Azure AD Connect for directory synchronization.
- M365 Global Administration
- Manage and support M365 services and applications including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of M365 environment.
- Implement and maintain security policies and compliance measures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to M365 services.
- Plan and execute migrations, updates, and integrations with other systems.
- Provide end-user support and training for M365 applications.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to implement best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for M365 configurations and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest M365 features and updates, and determine impacts and benefits to ecosystem.
- Ensure data backup and recovery processes are in place and tested.
- Microsoft Licensing:
- Manage procurement process for Microsoft licenses across multiple contracts, tenants, and agreements.
- Work with different IT and business teams, along with Microsoft account team, to determine license needs/requirements.
- PowerShell Automation:
- Create and execute PowerShell scripts for routine tasks, such as user provisioning, mailbox migrations, M365 setup and configuration, reporting.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Work with end-users, addressing support-related issues promptly.
- Security and Compliance:
- Enforce security policies, monitor logs, and respond to incidents.
- Participate in compliance audits related to email systems and Microsoft ecosystem.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on Microsoft 365 features, security best practices, and industry trends.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange and M365 Administration
- In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft licensing, ecosystem, and applications
- Strong written and verbal skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of job functions.
- Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of tasks and projects.
- Hands on experience on creating and managing knowledge documents including developing process maps, KB Articles, and workflow diagrams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and manage small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Must be self-motivated, have strong desire to learn, and be adaptable to a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
