Job Description: Server Operations & Maintenance Lead
GDIT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Server Operations & Maintenance Lead to oversee the management and delivery of enterprise-wide IT services for our client at USCENTCOM. The Server Operations & Maintenance Lead will be responsible for ensuring outstanding service quality, efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives. This role will involve leading and coordinating various IT teams, establishing service management best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Lead with a strong background in coordinating IT service management tasks. The Lead will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the delivery of enterprise-wide IT services, including networking, server, storage, virtualization, and security services.
- Managing service delivery processes, such as incident, problem, change, and configuration management, adhering to ITIL best practices.
- Leading and mentoring IT teams responsible for service delivery, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Developing and implementing service improvement plans to enhance service quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Coordinating and managing service transitions, including service design, build, testing, and deployment, ensuring minimal disruption and risk to the business.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs, and driving service delivery improvements.
- Maintaining and Reporting on Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) w/ the customer to ensure service quality and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with security policies, regulations, and best practices related to enterprise services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Developing and updating comprehensive documentation related to enterprise services, processes, and procedures that aligns with a Cross Function Team (CFT) approach.
- Evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve service delivery, efficiency, and scalability.
- Supporting projects to enhance the security, efficiency, or capability of the enterprise services environment.
- Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Monitoring and reporting on service performance, identifying trends, and proposing corrective actions to address potential issues.
Education and/or Certifications: Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
- Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
Desired:
- Master’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience working in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) or ITIL v3 Expert certification
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in IT service management, including experience in leading IT teams and managing enterprise-wide services.
- Strong understanding of IT service management best practices, processes, and tools (e.g., ITIL, Remedy, and/or ServiceNow).
- Experience in service delivery performance management, including SLA development, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs, and driving service delivery improvements.
- Experience in managing service transitions, including service design, build, testing, and deployment.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other automation tools for script, tasks, and configuration management.
- Experience with USCENTCOM and understanding of its Mission and IT environment.

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
