Caterpillar Inc. seeks Controls System Senior Engineer at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL 61523.
Job Description: Develop Electromechanical Control Systems using quantitative methods including the integration of electronics and software to solve problems for internal and external Caterpillar customers through integrating mechanical and electronic components and systems through control algorithm implementation and optimization using data from sensors, on-board models, and product analytics. Direct and participate in the design and development of new Electromechanical Control Systems product concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, digital connectivity and serviceability.
Requirements : This position requires a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 30 months of experience in Machine software development and releasing experience on construction and mining equipment or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Creating software specs from high-level customer requirements; (2) Defining software release content, dates, and coordination of lab validation; (3) On-site electronics and software support for prove design machine builds and assisting with on-machine electronics testing; (4) Integration of software features from models and libraries to create software flash files; (5) Test plan development and software validation; and (6) Machine software library development and integration. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.
