Summary of Responsibilities
As Design Sales Manager, you will leverage your expertise in remodeling design and construction to connect with clients and drive company sales. You will collaborate with estimators and designers to develop exceptional projects, create and secure design agreements, close construction agreements, and nurture strong client relationships throughout the project timeline and beyond. You will also lead and inspire our design team, fostering a winning culture that aligns with our values. As a key member of the HDR Remodeling team, our Design Sales Manager will contribute to company profitability and sales targets and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Sales and Project Development: Generate projects for the design team. Collaborate with clients and HDR team to set and refine project scopes, review budgets, and secure design and construction agreements. Refine and improve the sales process to meet personal and company sales goals.
Team Leadership: Lead the design team by developing and implementing policies and goals, recruiting, hiring, and training staff, conducting performance reviews, and offering talent development and growth opportunities.
Quality Assurance: Manage the preparation and quality control of design documents, including construction drawings and permits, ensuring they meet client goals and company standards.
Budget Management: Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to develop design fee estimates, monitor the department's progress against targets, and review and approve invoices.
Design-Production Collaboration: Train design staff on production needs, incorporate lessons from previous projects, and collaborate with the production team to improve the accuracy and clarity of drawings, estimates, and contracts.
Seamless Transitions: Oversee the transfer of comprehensive project details from design to production and offer support to production during the construction phase.
Support Production: Ensure timely ordering and documentation of fixtures and finishes, participate in Design/Production meetings, and address client needs or change orders.
Business Development: Support the Head of Business Development with prospecting, lead qualification, attending outreach events, and marketing tasks as needed.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- 5+ years of residential remodeling interior design experience
- 4+ years of remodeling or design sales experience
- 2+ years in a leadership role
- Tech-savvy with AutoCAD and Buildertrend experience preferred
- Demonstrated sales and customer service ability Sandler Sales training a plus
- This is a full-time, in-office position with some hybrid flexibility after onboarding
- Personal characteristics including strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must have!
Compensation
- On-target earnings of $115,000-$125,000 for 1st year
- Generous base pay plus commission
