JOB SUMMARY - Material Planner - Entry Level - Based onsite in Auburn Hills, MI
Our Material Planner is an entry level position in Supply Chain and executes material requirement plans to ensure material supply equals demand to support production at our Auburn Hills, MI site.
IN YOUR ROLE YOU WILL
• Maintains data integrity of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) parameters, including but not limited to material master, information records, and source lists
• Analyzes, maintains, and executes Materials Requirement Plan (MRP)
• Ensures materials are available to support production through MRP execution, on-time delivery, and coordination of materials movement through receiving to production
• Participates in decision making of Master Production Schedule loading through proper materials sizing
• Effectively manages material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and product End of Life (EOL)
• Resolves issues related to inventory, accounts payable and freight expenses
• Dispositions non-conforming material (MRB), excess, obsolete, and/or high stock materials
• Supports Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies
• Optimizes performance on purchasing related Drive By Wire Metrics
• Supports the optimization of overall cost of materials
• Issues Purchase Orders to pricing, terms and conditions, per negotiated and agreed to conditions by Jabil Commodity Managers and Buyers
• Ensures suppliers adhere to established agreements
• Optimizes order management process to ensure effective communication with suppliers
• Monitors and continuously improves supplier delivery and quality performance
• Provides input to drive and execute Jabil’s commodity and pricing strategy
• Provides feedback on supplier performance and Jabil’s strategies
• Applies Lean Six Sigma methodology
• Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, High School Diploma/GED required
- 0-1+ year of experience preferred in supply chain, planning, inventory management, and/or project management
- Advanced PC skills
- Strong negotiation, effective communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Solid problem solving skills
