Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s North American Security & Emergency Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Physical Security and Emergency Management Regional Operations Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure a safe and secure working environment for assigned remote locations by providing leadership and strategic direction to local support teams for assigned regional portfolio. This includes daily strategic supplier management to meet performance, budget, and quality targets; gathering information to support service level KPIs; analyze trends within region to identify gaps and opportunities; optimize resources to execute projects. The candidate will also be responsible for continuing the management of the workplace violence prevention and preparation program for all locations in the United States.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, North American Security & Emergency Management, the Physical Security and Emergency Management Regional Operations Manager will manage daily security/fire operation processes; planning, organizing, directing, developing and implementing security/fire countermeasures and providing updates to management and other key individuals/groups/departments.
What you’ll be doing

Lead the Toyota Motors North America workplace violence prevention and preparation program. Continue the ongoing development of the program and associated standards that combine all the key elements of prevention, training, response and threat management into one comprehensive program
Create and deliver to management – KPIs and performance related updates for site services. This would include incorporating site executive feedback and sharing with matrix managers issues or change points.
Plan and manage a capital and operating combined budget of over $30 Million by ensuring strategy/contracts are in place, POs are issued, and status is tracked monthly for all projects in the assigned region.
Develop plans, gain consensus and manage leaders to execute projects of varied sizes and types.
Facilitate and support quarterly face-to-face updates with executive leadership at locations in the region.
Provide leadership and strategic direction to the local support teams including daily strategic supplier management to meet performance, budget, and quality targets.
Analyze trends within your region to identify gaps and opportunities culminating in the development of a plan to meet the needs of an ever-changing security and emergency management environment.
Manage large-scale projects including new construction and site expansions where security components are required.
Perform benchmarking of peer companies and security operators on a regular basis.
What you bring
Experience in daily security and/or emergency operations management.
Success in managing employees to reach goals and stretch targets.
Experience in creation and utilization of post orders, standard operating procedures, and/or job instruction sheets.
Experience in workplace violence standards and initiatives.
Proven ability to quickly adapt to and coordinate during a crisis situation.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ad-hoc, sometimes unplanned, short-term activities while maintaining progress on long-term initiatives.
Ability to quickly understand and differentiate between the wants and needs of many varied business customers.
Experience in working in a very large, multi-faceted operation.
Strong demonstrated process and project management skills
Strong communication skills to influence and persuade others
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to executive management
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required (7 years)
Willingness to travel and respond to customer expectations during regular and after-hours, including weekend and holiday requirements.
Added bonus if you have
Experience in overseeing large 3rd party security operations and vendors.
Experience in fire management practices including standards in fire suppression and alarming.
Experience in conducting site security vulnerability assessments.
Experience in new manufacturing plant start-ups.
Experience in Lithium-Ion battery technologies.
Experience in workplace violence threat assessment and management.
Experience in systems such as Lenel, Genetec, Milestone Video Management, Alert Enterprise, or other security enterprise software packages.
Understanding of Toyota
Way and other Toyota practices like ringi, hoshin, and nemawashi.
