The Opportunity
As a dedicated Entry Level Compensation Advisor, you will be responsible for the implementation and administration of total compensation programs, practices and policies. Ensuring alignment with the total rewards philosophy and HR strategy. Providing guidance and solutions covering a wide range of compensation areas including base pay administration, short-term and long-term incentive pay administration, and salary guidance.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will based in the San Antonio, TX office location.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Assists with the implementation and administration of compensation programs, practices and policies.
Works with team members to resolve issues on existing compensation programs, practices and policies.
Seeks guidance on identifying appropriate issues for escalation.
Conducts data entry of compensation related information to appropriate databases and system resources, including HRIS and Case/Knowledge Management System.
Gathers compensation survey data and maintains database of job and survey related information.
Supports compensation projects and initiatives.
Assists key stakeholders with the implementation of systems and processes which support compensation programs.
Assists with training on compensation-related programs, practices and policies, ensuring compliance with legal standards and strategic alignment.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Up to 2 years of relevant work experience in a compensation discipline or related experience in HR, Finance, or business sales operations with foundational knowledge of relevant compensation and/or HR laws.
Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other software to be used to develop analysis, charts, and/or supporting documentation.
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: Federal and state fair employment practices laws including Equal Pay Acts and other nondiscrimination laws, Federal contractor and affirmative action laws and regulations such as Executive Order 11246, FLSA. If supporting variable pay program: REG Z, SafeAct. If supporting Executive Rewards programs: knowledge of Interagency Guidance on Sound Compensation Policies (75 FR 36395) and Internal Revenue Code requirements applicable to executive compensation.
What sets you apart:
Demonstrated ability to review and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and meaningful insights.
Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, including functions like data manipulation, pivot tables, and creating professional presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Experience working on projects under guidance, with an understanding of project management principles, including planning, execution, and administration.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $51,840.00 - $92,880.00.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
