Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Security Assistant for the EPASS Contract supporting the Air Force.
We are looking for an experienced Security Assistant to join the AWACS program at Tinker AFB, OK. The Contractor shall provide Security Assistant support to perform administrative security functions under the direction of the activity security manager without regard for job series or title or for rank, rate, or grade as long as they have the clearance required for the access needed to perform their assigned duties and tasks.
The Security Assistant shall assist the AF Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) in oversight of national security objectives supporting AF interests. H/She shall provide day-to-day support for collateral and/or as specifically directed, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities. This will be accomplished through active and integrated security operations, processes, mechanisms and performed under the direction of Government security administrator.The Contractor shall provide multi-disciplinary security support, including aspects of information security, personnel security, operations security, industrial security, communications security, acquisition security, general security, physical security and anti-terrorism/force protection duties, while also being responsive
and flexible to dynamic security situations.
The Security Assistant shall perform analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL
- Understanding of counterintelligence threats and trends
- Possess demonstrated knowledge of DoD security procedures, including classified transmission, protection of incoming mail, courier requirements, security incident reporting, and security violation sanctions.
- Command a full understanding and maintain current on all Operations Security (OPSEC) practices.
- Familiarity with DISS
- Basic knowledge of the DD Form 254 and how it is incorporated in the Air Force acquisition process
- Able to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
- Demonstrated maturity and ability in handling sensitive information regarding acquisition programs, exercises, personal matters of a potential derogatory nature, or military activities with discretion and sound judgement
- Able to accurately convey information both in written and verbal format
- Understanding of cloud-based classified systems and connections is preferred
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
- Top Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required for all applicants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommending, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials.
- Recommending and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.
- Providing the following security support for controlled facilities
- Issue notices and continuous reminders to Program Office personnel regarding OPSEC practices.
