DESCRIPTION
Lead, develop and implement projects of varying complexity and size in the Supply Chain Logistics functional area and partner with stakeholders to ensure successful project completion. Facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each logistics project, and work with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals and to design project plan, develop timeline, identify project milestones, and track performance against performance goals and timelines. Lead project risk by using quality tools to identify areas of risk and working with others on the project team to identify, assess and prioritize issues and find alternative or solutions. Responsible for delivering plan performance, and developing and improving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). Plan and monitor project budget, conduct research and analysis, and provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines. Review KPIs and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective action plans to address performance issues on safety, quality, delivery, and/or cost. Maintain project notes, databases, and other records, and monitor measures and communicate with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments. Lead and develop resource plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively. Collaborate with business management and third party logistics providers to identify short and long-term logistics projects, including leading the analysis, project identification, design, budget, capabilities, and available project budgets, taking into consideration logistics business processes, change management, and life-cycle of product and project. Utilize knowledge in Scope and Schedule Management to track to the status of project deliverables, use scope-defining documents to manage the connections between multiple levels of scope detail in related additional documents and manage complex schedules integrating multiple sub-projects. Assure globally common logistics business processes are applied to project requirements. Evaluate and select appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method while balancing cost, quality and time. Utilize knowledge with Data Management systems and tools to work on related projects. Interact with projects and users impacting all Global Logistics regions. Provide end-user support globally, issue support and problem resolution. Lead user acceptance testing and project tracking. Champion continuous improvement projects that align with the company by leveraging common processes, information systems and applying principles of Six Sigma methodologies, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban and Value Stream Mapping.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management or related field (employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management or related) and 3 years of experience as a Logistics or Supply Chain Planner, Analyst or Manager, or related position. Experience to include: Design project plan and track performance against performance goals and timelines; Project Issue and Risk Management; Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI's); Root cause analysis and corrective action plans; Project Resource Management; Logistics business processes; Scope and Schedule Management; Data Management systems and tools; Transportation mode evaluation and selection; End-user support; Six Sigma methodologies, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban and Value Stream Mapping.
