Job Overview & Responsibilities
The ULA Decatur facility is the primary location for building and testing the Vulcan rocket. The Systems Test Engineer is a critical role to ensure successful operation of the rocket prior to delivery to the launch site. This position will primarily be responsible for Propulsion System testing of the Vulcan Booster.
The Systems Test Engineer responsibilities include:
- Conduct component and system level tests as part of a team in accordance with engineering requirements and aerospace specifications.
- Interpret drawing and engineering requirements and generate test procedures.
- Support the production schedule as required to meet milestones.
- Perform maintenance of Test Equipment to ensure readiness.
Required Education
Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience executing component or system-level testing individually or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with operation of some or all of the following systems:
- Pressure Vessels
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Electrical/Avionics
- Familiarity with data analysis and failure troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems such as the following:
- Pressure Transducers, Strain Gages, Thermocouples, RTDs
- Labview, National Instruments Data Collection Systems
