We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Director, Strategy & Operations to join the Enterprise Talent Office (ETO). In this role, you will be responsible for establishing, facilitating, and driving strategic initiatives and the operating cadence of the Enterprise Talent Office. You will focus on improving processes across ETO teams and assist the Chief Talent Officer and Leadership Team on organizational transformation to drive strategic objectives. Working closely across the People Team, you will be responsible for operationalizing initiatives, and creating tools, practices, and processes that support the business.
The biggest impact will come from an individual who possesses strong strategic, business, and operating intuition, has outstanding project and program management skills, and is an inspirational agent of change within the organization. The ideal candidate will dig into details to understand and assess business needs, identify areas of opportunity, identify potential gaps in strategic operations and processes, and implement strategies and tactics to drive strategy and operations to the benefit the company. Your prior experience operating in large-scale, global, cross-functional and collaborative environments will provide you with the foundation necessary to be successful in this dynamic, high-impact position.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning & Operations
- Build and manage the operational rhythm for the Enterprise Talent Office, ensuring accountability and continuous process improvement.
- Work closely with the ETO Leadership Team to set priorities and drive operational initiatives.
- Establish and drive cadence to review business performance including through strategic business planning and regular reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform decisions related to business strategy, annual planning, investment prioritization, and ongoing business priorities.
- Encourage cross-collaboration and transparency across the organization.
- Monitor the ETO budget in partnership with Finance.
- In partnership with HRforHR, support evolution of ETO by facilitating org health and talent review discussions.
- Drive Strategic Programs
- Provide programmatic support and ownership for key ETO strategic initiatives.
- Program manage critical workstreams to support ETO evolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise value through strategic programs.
- Communications & Positioning
- Partner with Internal Communications to define talent story and messaging framework and maintain editorial calendar for ETO.
- Drive key messages and inputs into content for ETO communications.
- Leadership
- Lead a high performing team, effectively coach, and develop team members to effectively deliver programs and drive capabilities across the people team.
- Foster an agile and collaborative work environment that supports experimentation and creativity.
- Serve as a thought partner to senior leaders, presenting strategic insights and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience leading Strategy & Operations function for large organizations
- Proven track record of success in designing and implementing a planning cadence and operational rhythm to support business objectives
- Solid leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and inspire others
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, complex projects and/or programs across teams or organizations, often working on multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Relationship builder, trusted advisor, collaborator, comfortable navigating large organizations
- Strategic thinker, agile problem solver, and solid influencing skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
