PAINT EQUIPMENT SETUP OPERATOR/TECHNICIAN:
Setup, adjust and maintain controlled operations on painting, cleaning and testing equipment and perform numerous
chemical, mechanical and electrical tests on the paint, piece parts and paint system.
What you will do:
- Receive written and/or verbal instructions and assignments from the supervisor.
- Gather test samples from electrostatic spray system, bulk storage paint system, electro deposition system and the metal pre-treatment system.
- Set up and perform various tests such as titrations, conductivity, viscosity, pH, weight, amine content of paint, temperature and voltage to determine specific data about the paint and paint system.
- Prepare and maintain records and charts of test results and production records and proper inventory of paint, paint thinner and chemicals as required.
- Use test results to maintain proper levels.
- Adjust equipment to maintain proper texture, gloss, paint film, thickness and adhesion of paint on finished parts as per specifications.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and make minor repairs as required to keep equipment operating.
- Clean and/or lubricate equipment as required.
- Check part pieces and report any defective condition to supervisor.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
