Program Summary
KBR is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team within the Defense Systems Engineering organization, supporting the sustainment engineering efforts of the Air Force and other DoD customers across multiple programs. We provide engineering expertise in reverse engineering, prototyping, analysis, and other aspects of digital material management, allowing our customers to keep legacy systems in operation during the later stages of their lifespans.
Job Summary
This position will support our Tinker AFB customers by resolving mechanical sustainment issues. Under direct supervision, the employee independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations, and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Creating models and drawings in SolidWorks using AMSE Y14 standards
· Applies knowledge of design principles as well as technical CAD expertise for designing, modeling, and drafting simple to complex systems.
· Utilizes large assembly techniques and other CAD “Best Practice” methods within SolidWorks suite of software apps (including PDM and Model Based Definition) to develop robust and sustainable models and drawings of the designed system(s).
· Writing and reviewing of technical documentation for installation, testing, or summary reports for engineering deliverables.
· Working in lab space for fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills
Basic Qualifications
· This position requires an associate degree in a technical field and four (4) or more years of professional experience with CAD systems. Will consider 8+ years’ experience acquired knowledge through practical experience and formal education in lieu of degree.
· U.S. Citizen
· Must have the ability to obtain a clearance
Preferred Qualifications
· SolidWorks certifications
· Proficient in SolidWorks
· Proficient in other CAD related systems:
o AutoCAD
o VxElements
o PDM
· Advanced knowledge of:
o ANSI/ASME Y14 standards
o MIL-STD-31000 specification
o Model-based definition (MBD)
o Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
o Air Force JEDMICS specifications
o Welding Standards
