How will your role impact First Command?
Reporting to the VP/Manager of Operations Support, the Associate Manager Deposit Services must have thorough knowledge of all duties within the department, including business functions, systems, procedures, and policies. This leader will be extensively involved in the training of all new employees on the Deposit Services team, act as an agent of change, resolve client escalations, and lead with compassion.The position requires close involvement with Bank Compliance, Bank Risk & Quality Control, and First Command Internal Audit to assure proper communication on possible risk.This individual ensures prudent banking procedures and regulations are strictly followed to prevent possible loss to the bank. The leader must possess excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as be able to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information while meeting strict deadlines with numerous interruptions.
What will you be doing?
- Be a brand ambassador for First Command and promote values-driven leadership
- Management responsibility of the Deposit Services team
- Handle escalated issues for clients, financial advisors, and/or co-workers promptly and effectively
- Actively coach, develop, motivate, and support the Deposit Services team
- Promote a strong control environment
- Conduct ongoing process evaluations, and strengthen the effectiveness of procedures while controlling risk exposure
- Manage complexity, prioritize tasks, delegate, and execute in a fast-paced environment
- Interpret performance results, find opportunities to drive success and hold others accountable to results
- Reconcile and balance required GL accounts, teller drawers, the bank vault, ATM, and other systems/platforms
- Verify completion of daily logs
- Review large transactions including but not limited to remote deposits, over the counter branch deposits, withdrawals, cashier’s checks, and ATM deposits within established limits
- Partner with quality control, compliance, and internal audit to ensure departmental processes are operating as expected

- Incumbent must be a mature, professional individual able to address problems and recommend a solution to quickly resolve escalated personnel or client issues. This position is responsible for supporting the team with active coaching, mentoring, and accountability.
What skills/qualifications do you need?
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college preferred.
Work Experience
- 5 to 7 years bank teller experience required.
- 3-5 years bank teller supervisor experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be an effective team leader.
- Client Experience is a must due to client interactions.
- Migration to educate clients to use alternative channels; remote deposit, ATMs and bill pay.
- Ability to train effectively.
- Must be familiar and able to operate Microsoft excel and word and must be able to learn other software specific to First Command Bank.
- Must possess discernment in being able to apply bank policy and regulations and the ability to apply exceptions when needed.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information and records.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of First Command Bank products.
- Must be detailed oriented and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must have good customer service skills that include handling challenging situations with clients in a professional manner, while being alert for potentially fraudulent activity
- Must remain knowledgeable with fraud trends in order to detect and reduce potential losses due to fraud.
