Lowe's 2025 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The summer internship program begins with orientation on May 27th and concludes on August 1st. All internships are paid opportunities. This role has potential for conversion into an Operations Supervisor full-time role or another internship for those that successfully complete the internship and required education. And qualified interns will be eligible for Lowe's housing benefit.
Supply Chain Operations Internship
In this internship the Supply Chain Operations intern will be shadowing the Operations Supervisor who is accountable for leading a high performing team and is responsible for handling product safely, efficiently, and effectively as it moves through the facility. While monitoring production volume and assigning tasks involving receiving, put away, picking or shipping product (including appliances), or supporting tasks to Team Members. The Operations Supervisor must be able to mentor and build a culture of safety among Associates to achieve a safe working environment. RDC Operations intern will also be exposed to multiple reports and analyzing of data so that they see first-hand what appropriate action is taken for changing workflow situations (e.g., prioritizing product, demand drops).
Areas of learning
Help monitor Associate performance; ensuring assigned tasks are executed accurately and as scheduled.
Assist with the expediting receiving, picking and shipping of priority product (e.g., Special Order Express (S.O.E.) or Special Order Sales (S.O.S.)).
Promote safety in the work environment, complete safety observations.
Make recommendations on staffing needs and work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skill sets.
Help assist effective communication with Associates regarding business objectives or current issues.
Assist and/or prepare shift turn over documentation.
Assist and/or recommend resolution to equipment issues (for example, replace failed equipment or contact Maintenance).
Identify and assist in implementing process improvements.
Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management or related field from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2025, May 2026, December 2026 or May 2027.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Strong collaborative, interpersonal, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.
Ability to build rapport and trust with others.
Perform detail-oriented tasks in a stressful fast-paced working environment.
Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among subordinates and peers.
Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization.
Bi-lingual helpful.
