Job Summary
Supports marketing functions related to the analysis, strategic development, and revenue growth for a portfolio of metals and equipment commodities. Evaluates and manages various market strategies for various metals commodities. Develops and issues prices for rail transportation services, including value-added service. Responsible for project-based work to better understand specific markets and their customers, improve internal decision-making, and support the broader Sales and Marketing organization, including projects outside of the metals market. Establishes and maintains relationships with Sales and key business partners to develop and negotiate price proposals and service packages for customers.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business strategies for the Metals Business Unit
- Develop bid packages for new business and work with sales team to renew existing business
- Partner with Sales team to develop value proposition(s) for the products under responsibilities
- Work with Finance and Operations to establish a greater understanding of costs and operations associated with current business and new opportunities
- Develop industry knowledge and expertise for product areas of responsibility through market research and monitoring competitor activity and create strategic marketing plans accordingly
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external customers and connecting rail carriers
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in product management, marketing, pricing, project management and/or business to business (B2B) sales
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in product management, marketing, pricing, project management and/or business to business (B2B) sales
