Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Analyst – Business Valuation

As an Analyst in our Valuation, Modeling and Financial Advisory offering at Deloitte, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals across diverse industries while building your professional skills in a variety of project experiences. Work you’ll do
You’ll have the opportunity to work on multiple projects leveraging your business-related degree to help our clients more confidently make decisions to drive performance. You’ll leverage advanced, technology-enabled solutions to help our clients more confidently make decisions and execute on those decisions to drive performance.
Specific areas of work could include:
- Transaction Compliance Valuation – Assist with providing valuation advisory services and opinions related to businesses, legal entities, debt and equity instruments and intangible assets for financial reporting (e.g., purchase price allocation, goodwill impairment), tax structuring, and regulatory purposes.
- Transactions and Modeling Advisory – Help advise clients on strategic decisions through the use of financial modeling, financial analysis, and valuation. Assist with validation, development, and governance of complex securities pricing and risk models.
- Audit Support – Perform research and independent procedures to assess the reasonableness of various types of valuation analyses (e.g. goodwill and intangible asset impairment, business combinations, privately-held equity and debt instruments, complex securities and equity issued as management compensation)
Regardless of project type, your work will require:
- Familiarity with financial markets, financial accounting, business valuation, financial instrument valuation (including derivatives and structured products), equity research or financial planning and analyses
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunities
- Ability to collaborate and communicate across Deloitte team members and client stakeholders
- Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts, frameworks and emerging technologies
- Ability to manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experience
- A strong understanding of Windows Based systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors and/or Master’s degree required with preferred majors including: Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related field of study
- Strong academic track record with extracurricular activities (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above)
- Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Our current work environment is a hybrid approach, which means:
- You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required
- You can expect to be co-located 30-50% with variations based on types of work/projects and client locations
Preferred:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above
- Relevant work experience or work experience in a professional environment (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
- Demonstrated recent leadership, such as in a campus club, society, sports teams or other activity
- Demonstrated recent social impact or volunteer activity
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $82,000 to $84,000.

Our Deloitte Advisory Valuation, Modeling and Financial Advisory team brings knowledgeable and experienced professionals in valuation advisory services, including entity and equity valuation, financial and regulatory modeling, intellectual property valuations, and complex securities valuation to help clients make the most appropriate decisions for their business. The Valuation team helps clients quantify, manage, and build value related to intellectual property, business enterprises and financial instruments. We serve as advisors on decisions related to mergers and acquisitions, litigation and disputes, bankruptcy and reorganization, financial reporting, taxation, strategic planning, and compliance.
We also cover the full spectrum of real estate valuation services, from evaluating large and diverse portfolios to performing single-property analyses to identifying and performing valuations of tangible and intangible real estate-related assets. The team serves clients throughout nearly all industries, handling many types of property-related issues, including due diligence, lease advisory, market analyses, underwriting process evaluations, portfolio related services, litigation support and expert witness services, and complex property analysis and valuation. Our professionals frequently deal with large portfolios of real property assets on a regional, national and even global basis.
