Productivity Engineering (PE) is a team at LinkedIn that builds products that power LinkedIn’s business. We drive technology vision, architecture, and design systems that help the company deliver on major business processes (go-to-market, sales, finance, and customer support, etc.). We deliver applications and products that let our customers do business with us in a seamless way, help grow our top line and increase our efficiency.
The PE organization is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Unified Collaboration (UC) team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing voice, video, chat, doc, and app collaboration solutions for employees, driving transformative initiatives for enhanced experiences. Responsibilities include device management, security policies, automation, and collaboration transformations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the UC engineering team with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent.
• As a hands-on manager, you will participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.
• Drive execution of product, services and technology roadmap by collaborating with team, product management, software development teams and business partners.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for craftsmanship.
• Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology strategy and roadmap.
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craft.
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in unified communications/collaboration (UC), video conferencing, and voice/telecom technologies.
• 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training.
• 5+ years of industry experience in large-scale infrastructure/software design, development, and engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with collaboration technologies that are used in the industry from providers such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Apple, Slack and Google.
• Strong leadership, roadmap development, support provision, and operational reporting skills.
• Experience developing high quality real-time applications to support critical business requirements with an eye for a seamless User Experience that is delivered through efficient and scalable integrations.
• Relevant experience with end-to-end monitoring platforms that can track various aspects of complex applications and underlying infrastructure (Observability)
• Strong management skills for planning and executing complex multi-team projects that crosses multiple infrastructure domains (Network, Compute, Storage, Data, Security)
• Experience building and running in production (24x7 environments) large-scale distributed systems deployed on the cloud or datacenter.
• Strong background in optimizing collaboration solutions, security policies, and automation.
• Strategic thinking skills and ability to deliver reliable and seamless experiences.
• Ability to hire and manage technical teams.
• Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in UC infrastructure design and architecture, including performance, security and scalability.
• Strong written and verbal communicator who is very organized, able to think entrepreneurially and works well in a cross-collaboration environment.

The pay range for this role is $127,000 to $207,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
