We seek an experienced Agile Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. As a Scrum master, you will facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes within our organization, ensuring our customer can work collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality solutions. You will work closely with the product development team to ensure that the work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the desired level of quality. Additionally, you will serve as a coach and mentor to our team – helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently.
Role will be primarily telecommute. May require onsite meetings in the DC Metro area. Local candidates are required
Candidate MUST:
be currently located in the DC Metro area and in the US for the current three consecutive years
be US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain a level 5 Public Trust Clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective).
- Ensure the Scrum framework is followed and understood by the team.
- Identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team's progress.
- Act as a buffer between the team and external interferences.
- Provide coaching to team members on Agile principles and practices.
- Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement practices within the team.
- Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a clear and prioritized product backlog.
- Ensure the team understands the product vision and goals.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and foster a positive team environment.
- Track and report key metrics related to team performance and Agile maturity.
- Shield the team from distractions and interruptions, allowing them to focus on delivering value.
- Help the team to focus on delivering high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
- Ensure alignment with business objectives and priorities.
- Utilize Agile tools (like Jira, Trello, etc.) to manage workflow and transparency.
Basic Qualifications
- Active Public Trust Clearance or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience with large-scale projects/ program(s). 4 additional years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
- In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible at juggling competing priorities. Must be resourceful and independent problem solvers.
- Experience with standard system engineering lifecycle concepts, architectural frameworks, and artifacts to produce working solutions.
- 5+ years of experience working in an agile role and environment
Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification.
- Advanced Scrum certifications (e.g., Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)).
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Experience within Federal Government, such as DHS, FDA, NIH, or HHS is highly preferred.
- SAFe certification and Kanban certification are a plus.
- Certifications and Experience with CMMI level certifications
- Familiar with Microsoft aligned products like Power Platform, M365/MS Teams, and AVD
- Other Expertise in Atlassian suite products, Azure, JAMF, Okta

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
