To solidify our leadership in AI, Microsoft has launched a groundbreaking program to develop the next generation of leaders in this field. Over the course of two years, participants will work in interdisciplinary project teams to provide AI as a service to engineering teams across Microsoft and solve some of our most exciting and challenging problems. In addition, you will have mentors, exposure to leaders, and access to numerous AI applied scientists, researchers, and engineers across the company. MAIDAP Product Managers have the opportunity to leverage and implement cutting-edge AI technology to meet product needs, advancing the state-of-the-art both internally and externally. They act as the bridge between research and development (R&D), blending techniques from both domains to drive data-driven, research-based innovation from theory into practice. This role involves close collaboration with software engineers, applied scientists in MAIDAP, and partnering product and technology teams across Microsoft.

- Identify unmet customer needs and market opportunities across groups of features for feature development through quantitative and qualitative analyses. Identify dependencies of other feature areas.
- Collaborate with product teams across Microsoft to translate business needs into AI solutions by scoping the impact and prioritization of problems with minimal guidance. Develop problem statements and forms hypotheses to address customer needs. Perform experiments to test hypotheses and drive decisions on new features. Validate market size and opportunity to determine the most valuable features, and then define final solution options for a group of features.
- Drive clarity of root problems and engage in customer interactions to gather feedback.
Knowledgable on market/user research, competitive analyses, and understand industry trends and regulations. Work with minimal guidance to align customer, market, and feature goals with Microsoft’s strategy.
- Create and manage end-to-end project plans for technical solutions. Provide hands-on product management during analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation to meet customer requirements. Provide day-to-day coordination in our Scrum teams. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects by performing risk planning and management.
- Evangelize group work with stakeholders and share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to customers, managers, and key decision makers.
- Partner with software engineers, applied scientists, and colleagues to refine solutions tied to OKRs and KPIs.
- Stay current with the latest machine learning research and technology and communicate your knowledge throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (or currently pursuing a degree) AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
- 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Candidates will need to be available to start full-time in July 2025.

- Currently pursuing or have completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
